I have something for you! 🎁

Apparently it's national farmers market week!

Visiting the farmer's market is one of my all time favorite activities. I don't go as much as I'd like because I often want to purchase something from every vendor and, well, that can get expensive.

Supporting your local market might be one of the best ways to promote a sustainable lifestyle. You are helping close the loop from farmer to consumer, supporting their livelihood and get to eat with the seasons—meaning the produce will be fresher and taste better!

So get out there and visit the farmers market—it might be the highlight of your week! (Find a market near you, and search for exactly what you need, here).

7 days to a more sustainable you!

I have a new mini challenge available to guide you through 7 sustainable tasks. Each day you'll receive an email with 1 thing to do in order to be more sustainable that day.

If you get behind, just resume when you are ready! Who knows, going to the market might even be one of the tasks. You'd have one less task going into the challenge!

🌱TIP OF THE WEEK!

Sustainability is second nature to me, but lately, I've felt like my efforts of being sustainable are not enough or the expectations I set for myself are too high.

Today, I'm giving myself permission to release the guilt and take a break.

I'll find my motivation again, maybe even through my work while teaching you to be more sustainable! 😉

P.S. If the 7-day mini challenge sounds right up your alley, I'm putting together a 30 day sustainability habit tracker! Stay tuned for more details. Taking name suggestions because ChatGPT gave me "The Sustainable Shift" and I don't know if I'm sold on it yet. 😏

Flowers on the holmestead When we returned from our visit to Oregon last week, I was so sad to find some spoiled food in our fridge (fresh summer peaches!). It reminded me how easy it is to buy more than what we need—especially when there is seasonal produce galore everywhere. Are you someone that does this? Shops with your stomach and assumes it will all be consumed before going bad? Even throwing away rotten tomatoes that I grew pulls at my heart strings. (We have have 10 gallons of...

Took a walk down memory lane Last week I went to visit an old college friend who lives in the same town where we attended school. She was getting married over the weekend and I wanted to spend time with her before the big day. Walking down the streets and witnessing all the changes that have happened in the last 10 years was a gift. I remembered visiting the library for the first time and using my local address to become a member. It was exhilarating! Once I moved off campus and went to the...
