Can I be your librarian and tell you a story? 📚

The other day, a friend reached out because she had swapped some plastic containers for glass jars and wasn't sure how to dispose of the old plastic ones.

My suggestion was for her to donate them to the thrift store or post them on her local buy nothing page. You never know who can take your trash and turn it into a treasure!

Here's how we wrapped the conversation. She said, "Very small steps here but trying."

I want you to remember this, too. That's how change happens.

When you take one small step, then another, you build new habits and create the kind of life you want to build.

Whether that is living more sustainably, reducing your waste, or starting a garden, it's all built on small steps that compound.

Can I be your librarian?

It's a privilege to support your sustainability journey and share the knowledge I've obtained.

I have been building up my own sustainable habits over the last 10 years. There have been many small—sometimes tiny—steps to get to where I am today.

Sometimes it feels like I'm the only one who cares, or maybe I haven't found the right way to encourage and motivate change in your own lifestyle.

What questions do you have about trying to be more sustainable and reduce your waste?

Reply back to this email and let me know so we can keep the conversation going!

7-day mini challenge to reduce waste

I've started a weekly series about how we reduce our waste by sharing what was saved from the trash can. Though it feels mundane and simple, I've received more interest than I anticipated.

This curiosity led me to create a free mini challenge to encourage you to reduce your own waste!

See you next week!

🌱TIP OF THE WEEK!

Join the mini challenge to reduce your waste. So that there are no surprises, here is a preview of each task:

  • Become a member at the local library
  • Go one day without shopping on Amazon
  • Visit the farmer's market
  • Go one day without spending $$
  • Make a meal at home
  • Say no to something
  • Purchase plastic alternatives

That's it! There's a bit more guidance with each email but this is exactly how you can reduce your waste in 1 week.

Are you ready? Clearly, they are not. My sweet mother recommended more discussions about in my email newsletters so let's do it! I love talking about composting. Using something that would otherwise go to the landfill to turn back into soil, amazing. What you need to remember about the process is to have more browns (carbon) than greens (nitrogen). Happy 2026! Downtown Lex annual NYE celebration As one year ends and another begins, do you ever find yourself in a reflective space? I'm not one to make resolutions or set goals but I have been trying to navigate what I want my business to look like in 2026. As you may have noticed, weekly emails and actively sharing about my business on social media have take a back seat since beginning a full time job. Here's where I could use your help! I would love if you replied to this email and shared...

Where's the balance? It's snow magical My weekly email habits have fallen off the deep end and are no where to be found. In this season of managing a full time job and having time for anything else, I've sacrificed a lot. The other day, I had the realization that I can't expect myself to do all the things I was doing before I had a full time job. I simply don't have the same amount of time. And that's okay! The morning go by quickly as we rush to get out the door. The evenings are filled with...
